Maxillary radicular cyst excision and reconstruction with concentrated bone marrow aspirate cells mixed with xenograft - Case report with 7-year follow-up

Patient was left with a significant bone defect after an extraction of a large maxillary radicular cyst, warranting a bone reconstruction using InterOss® mixed with concentrated bone marrow aspirate. Due to the size of the defect, employing autogenous bone to fill the bone cavity was not ideal, and thus xenograft, having similar osteogenic properties, was used instead. Combined with the unique properties of the bone marrow, long-term follow-ups show healing and remodeling of both soft and hard tissues.

While the conclusion suggests no significant difference between the two techniques, InterOss® had successfully regenerated bone in all patients within 6 months, thereby allowing the data analysis in the first place.
